Photo on canvas makes a great birthday gift

Two days ago I had a birthday, and I received two wonderful gifts: 1. Passing grade for macroeconomics exam, 2. and a fantastic canvas made out of my photo. Well, technically, none of those were intended as a present, but stars aligned and I received my grade and got canvas delivered to my house exactly on the date – 26 April.

Canvas printing story had also a touch of mystery to it; Print had to be delivered on 22 April, but the volcanic activity in Iceland caused airspace in Europe to be sealed off for few days. This meant close-down of airports, and grounding of all flights including those of FedEx.

Either part of a grand scheme or an accident, canvas stayed in transit for longer than expected, only to appear in front of my doors exactly during the birthday party – It was a pleasant surprise!

Printing canvas for the first time

I’ve been involved in photography for ten years; and I only printed about ten photos total in all my life (okay, not counting the ones I’ve sold to various magazines). So, you can imagine excitement and great expectations I had for my very first huge canvas – I was ready to be shocked and impressed.

And I wasn’t disappointed…

My experience with company that did the printing service (CanvasOnDemand) was absolutely fabulous. They’ve been helpful throughout the whole process with lovely support and great response times. My questions had been dealt with in timely manner, within 1-2 hour delay, which is great for printing service.

And there is a good news for international folks too: It doesn’t matter where you live, CanvasOnDemand is situated in U.S. But they will happily ship final canvas anywhere in the world… even to my god-forgotten, postal nightmare country – Italy.

Ordering Process

Choosing the photo to print from 200gb collection turned out to be hardest part of the ordering process. Uploading photo, filling out shipping and billing details in comparison was a breeze thanks to simple interface of the storefront.

As soon as I submitted an order, I received support email explaining that photo was weirdly cropped and that they would print it even larger, for free… now that’s an Awesome service!

Canvas art looks good

I cannot hide fascination, print turned out fantastic! The quality of the ink, the tissue used, and the frame everything looks and feels great.

Canvas on demand is not another printing office under your house with sub-par staff and unprofessional lab employees – they really know what they are doing and experience shines in the final work.

What is morale of the story?

Well, go print your photos! Trust me, they look so much better in real life; my bedroom that now boasts canvas transformed into a new character, it’s lively and more personal, more me…

And while you choose which photo to print, check this website for amazing canvas printing service.

Note: I was not paid to do this review – canvas was given to me for free, in exchange for an honest review.
