Ipod Touch for Photographers
Can Ipod be a part of photo gear? – sure it can! And for me it’s quite important one… I’m not a gadget freak, so it will be hard for me to provide any reasonable review of the product, but I’ll try to explain how it is helpful in my work as a photographer! My favorite genre is street photography; So I spend allot of time in the city, alone, roaming streets, and waiting for the right moment… obviously some music helps not to get bored and relax. I also like to get detached from the reality and get rid of world noise that takes my attention from people and particular scenes. In my experience best bet is music without text, it helps allot to concentrate on visual and forget voices, car noise and all other background distractions.
Portable Portfolio: In addition to everything said above, IPOD touch can be used to showcase photography portfolio to potential customers, anywhere, anytime… no need to drag around your laptop, or printed albums, just load your favorite photos on the touch and you are ready to do some marketing. In fact, personally, I got few paid jobs thanks to my touch.
Interesting idea for ipod touch software developers: It would be nice create widget that hooks up ipod touch to camera wireless transmitters, so that touch could be used as a remote storage device. This widget would make IPOD a must among photographers, providing up to 32GB storage, with internet wireless capability and instant view on the larger screen.

The good: The Apple iPod Touch has a large, video-worthy screen, a cutting-edge interface, and Wi-Fi Internet, e-mail, and music download capabilities.
The bad: The iPod Touch may cost too much for you, depending on your needs. It has a small capacity for a portable video player.
The bottom line: The iPod Touch is a beautiful product, inside and out, but prepare yourself for sticker shock.

What a great find your site is. I found you through FB and the Networked Blogs page where I have The Camera Eye located. I will be checking back often as well.
One thing, I would like to see if the Itouch could be used as a “live view” for my Canon XSi, so I can get a better view of the colors than seeing it on the 3″ screen. That would be the ticket for us that want to tripod the camera and view the picture in a larger form. Plus, the Ipod would be great for some music while shooting as well.
Very nice, see you soon.
Best,
Chris Kulturides
Is there anyway to load photos directly from a camera to I touch. If not then I am a sucker because that is why I bought it.
Cheers

erm, I don’t think so… not yet at least
